Compare The Theme Of Untimely Death In ‘On My Firs

Compare the makeup of untimely death in On My eldest Sonne and Tichbornes plaint Untimely death is a key theme in both verses, it explores the theme of unexpected deaths and how the two people who have let outd or nearly to die were too young to go. In the poem On My First Sonne we c entirely for that the poet believes it is unfair his nipper has been taken from him because he was so young. Also in the poem Tichbornes Elegy the poet describes how it is similarly unfair that he is about to die because he hasnt completed his animations job yet. In the poem OMFS the poet questions his pietism after his childs death, this is because he doesnt understand why graven image would take his child at such a young age and he is fight to accept this. We substantiate this when it says O, could I loose all nonplus now? this symbolises that he wonders if he believes in graven image any longer because he doesnt understand the background behind him taking his childs life. Furthermore this could too mean that the poet has anomic his title as a father, overdue to the death of his intelligence. religion is also a strong theme in TE as the poet feels God set him the task of assassinating the queen and he has failed at this task, so therefore feels standardized he has committed a sin. OMFS also refers to the poet committing a sin, as it says My sinne was too more hop of thee, lovd boy this shows to the contributor that the poet is blaming himself for his childs death because of the sinne. In addition to this we see in both poems that religion leads their lives and what they do and how they act is immovable by religion and the rules that God sets them. As well as this both poems see the theme of point and destiny and the untimely deaths of the two characters, in OMFS we see a cite to fate when it says exacted by thy fate, on the just day this shows to us that the poet feels his sons life was already planned by God and there was cypher he could of done to change that.
