The war in Iraq was felt up by some to be necessary because the United States, as the only super power left, has a obligation to attend to countries powerless against tyranny and oppression. Some would also say that the duty of the United States to protect its own citizens from contrary enemies is one that overshadows all others and therefore makes this war necessary. Indeed, the Iraq issue is sort of relevant given its ramifications still felt today. However, i potently disagree with the author postulation that the United States acted unilaterally in its effort to bring democracy to Iraq. As far as the world conceived at the time, weapons of mass distruction was the original premise the US so strongly justified to the world for the invasion of Iraq. dear as the author stated, opposition to the war was grounded on the basis, it would contraven world-wide law against unilateralism. Democracy wasnt the reason for war; infact regime change was the hidden agenda for Bushs hawkish regime.

For something this important and vital, I would have expected real analysis rather than dickens rather simplistic paragraphs treating both sides. This is a senior essay, no?
